Experimenting with Watercolor on Canvas

Experimenting with Watercolor on Canvas

Watercolor on Canvas by Emmy Spoon

Lately I’ve been letting myself experiment more — and today that looks like watercolor on canvas.

It’s such a different feeling than working on paper. The paint moves differently, the surface responds differently, and it forces me to loosen my grip a little. I can’t control every detail the way I sometimes want to… and honestly, that’s part of what I love about it.

This piece feels like a practice in layers, intuition, and play.

I’m learning that creating doesn’t always have to be “productive” to be valuable. Sometimes the point is simply exploration — trying something new, following color, seeing what happens, and letting the process surprise me.

I’m proud of myself for showing up and making something without needing it to be perfect first.

More experiments coming soon.
